How to recognize a certified fireproof safe?

​

A product certified against fire can be identified by its certification plate located inside.

This plate indicates the tested and verified fire-resistance duration.

🔥 NT FIRE 017 Standard (Scandinavia)

​

Worldwide reference for fire protection.

​

Test method:

​

• Exposure to high temperature

• Durations: 60 / 90 / 120 minutes

• Internal temperature control:​​

​

• Magnetic media: max 30°C

• Paper: max 150°C

​

Examples:

​

• NT FIRE 017 120 P → 120 minutes of paper protection

• NT FIRE 017 60 DIS → 60 minutes for magnetic media

🔥 EN 15659 – LFS Standard

European standard (ECB-S) for domestic safes / archive cabinets.

​

Certified durations:

​

• 30 minutes

• 60 minutes

​

Examples:

​

• LFS 30 P

• LFS 60 P

🔥 EN 1047-1 Standard

The strictest standard (German origin).

​

Test method:

​

• High-temperature furnace (60 / 90 / 120 minutes)

• Drop test from 9.15 m

• Reheating and maintaining internal temperature tolerance

​

Examples:

​

• EN 1047-1 60 P

• EN 1047-1 120 DIS

​
